The GATE 2015 examination will be conducted online. It will be a computer based exam which is usually known as CBT. GATE 2015 question paper pattern or structure will be same for all papers. Also mark distribution is also same for all.

- Total Number of Questions : 65
- Total Marks : 100
- Exam Duration : 3 Hours
- General Aptitude- GA :10 questions of 15 marks
- Engineering Mathematics : 15 marks
- Technical questions (subject of the paper) : 70 marks
Types of questions included in Question Papers
- Numerical Answer Questions : There will be each question of 1 or 2 marks in which each question will have a real number as answer. That is to be entered by the candidate via virtual keypad. There will not be choices for this kind of questions.
- Multiple Choice Questions : There will be multiple choice question each have 4 choices. Each question carries 1 or 2 marks. The candidate have to choose any one among the choices.
Marking Scheme of GATE 2015 Exam :
- For 1 mark Multiple Choice Questions, 1/3 of the mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- For 2 mark Multiple Choice Questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- There will be No Negative marking fro numerical Answer type questions.
- No marks for unattended questions.
- Sectional Cut-off is not applied in GATE examination.
NB : Calculator will be allowed, but tables, charts, graphs sheets etc. are NOT allowed in the examination hall.
